Brief History of Department The science faculty was establishment at opening of the college in 1968. For further augmentation in scientific knowledge the department of Chemistry started in the year 1980. In order to fulfil scientific need and to increase the horizon of knowledge of chemistry of rural students. So, the department of chemistry had been started in Jurisdiction of Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The department has tow well equipped laboratories and university recognized two research guide for M.Phil and Ph.D. initially the department was started with only 25 students; now department has 272 for UG course. The department also conducts one short term and one value added course Preparation of Household Chemicals. The students prepared market survey booklet of Household chemicals in order to know the need of society. The department of chemistry publishes the student research project in the “Chem- Vision” Golden jubilee year Special Issue 2017-18. The department conducts 16th student centric activities every year. Beside this the department has modern ICT technique for the teaching learning process, Audio-video lectures capturing system and Google class room , etc. All the faculties in the department are well experienced and highly qualified. Highlight/feature of the department 1. Majority of our faculty engaged in research 2. Department conduct one value added course 3. 50% of our graduate got admission in PG in chemistry 4 Consultancy for soil and water analysis 5. Research publications in national and international journals 6. Students actively participated in research activities ‘research project poster competition 2017-18. 7. Chem - vission golden jubilee year special issue 2017-18 8. Student seminar by using PPT presentation 9. Audio video recorded lecture series 10. Google class room 11. PPT bank
